I've been wondering this for a while, I'm getting an ATX Motherboard for my new rig,

And was curious, What the difference between ITX and XL ATX Mobos.

My knowledge so far about them:

ITX:

Pros:

  • Compact, Easy to fit in certain cases
  • Less heat output

Cons:

  • Less memory slots
  • Less PCI slots native
  • Doesn't support newer CPU's
  • Less I/O ports

XL ATX:

Pros:

  • More PCI Slots
  • Octo ram slots (2x4)
  • More fan/Heatsink plugs
  • More SATA 6/Gbps Connectors

Cons:

  • Larger, Harder to work with
  • Only supports 2011 And up socket processors
  • More expensive

Correct me if I'm wrong.

And tell me if there's any other Pros/Cons about them.

Itx- has issues with heat, and there are some itx motherboards that support new processors

XL-ATX- i'm pretty sure that is all true

Hope I could help!
