Buy new, or replace parts?

So I have had a gaming laptop for quite some time now, and I have been using it quite a bit. The hard drive is not anywhere near full (a good 500gb left on it), but it is starting to show its age by lagging out a bit on newer games and just in general not being very fast with starting up, and the battery life has also been significantly reduced from the original starting point. Do you suggest trying to replace parts and continue with that, or do you think buying a new laptop would be in order? Link below is the laptop (with 1tb instead of 750gb of storage)

Keep this laptop and get a desktop PC.

If you can still do with current laptop you can consider swapping the HDD for SSD.
