won't happen on PC any time soon AFAIK.

 

last time i checked, the situation was that the drives are there but no playback software that is compatible with all their new DRM shit.

 

something like the common commercial BD players like windvd are still waiting on some sort of certification for this and if commercial software does not get it then free open source software never will.

Erm... There's really no need for 10gbe on a home network that's just streaming to a few clients around the house.  1gbe is more than enough.
