Worth upgrading SanDisk Pulse SSD to an M.2 drive?

Specifications: 128GB SanDisk Pulse, 2.5" SSD 7mm Slim SATA III 6Gb/s, MLC-Flash, Read 490MB/s, Write 350MB/s, 8000 IOPS, PC/MAC.


For a boot/programs drive, would I notice much difference if I upgraded to a M.2 drive?

m.2 won't be much of an upgrade compared to a good, modern SATA SSD, but at the same time I'm not sure if your's performs as well as a modern SATA SSD. However, no matter what I don't recommend an m.2 SSD unless you do a lot of professional work like video editing. An m.2 SSD won't make any difference in boot up and application launch times compared to something like an 850 evo.

If both old SSD and the new M.2 SSD both use SATA 3 there wouldn't be much of a speed difference
