BF4 Vertical Lines of Death

Ok so my card (asus 7870) is clocked at 

 

core voltage - 1300

power limit - +20

core clock - 1180

memory - 1360 

 

all in MSI afterburner

custom set fan curve, ramps up when card gets above 70 to like 80 percent

 

however today in BF4 (only game I've been playing) I'm get greenish/brownish (I'm, colourblind)

veritical lines after about 5/10 mins or so, I've been playing the game every day since launch and not had any SOD with those settings.

 

Do i need to dial the clocks back or is it something to do with a patch they've released? 

 

I haven't found a way to monitor temps of card in BF4 as OSD doesn't work, but in BF3 OSD never showed the card goin above 75 degrees

Since BF is OC sensitive, try to go back to stock and see if it's gone.

Dial the clocks back, since the overclock probably isn't stable.

ok I'll try. . . I used to run them higher on bf3 and that was stable (obviously new engine i know) thanks

use your memory(vram) at stock speeds they are extremely sensitive to overclock

Yeah I heard that can get hot seperate from the core, no matter how fast the fans spin?

yup if you dont have little small heatsinks on them yes (you most likely dont) besides you dont get that much of a benefit from overclocking memory unless you are running 1440p or 4k

Ok I've worked it out now, I remember updating drivers before I first played the game, Today I uninstalled drivers I didn't uninstall them first and re-installed latest drivers (first time) n then this time checked to see if CCC was on stock clocks, I nearly had a fucking heart attack, Memory was set to full (along with other things all not as they should be). . . I can only assume this is what happened last time too, so I switched it all back to default, dialled back in MSI the settings I mentioned above and all is well
