Hi,

you need a router that supports guest networks, which I think most modern AC Wifi routers would do. Then all you need to do is set it up in the GUI

I wanna have to separate routers and control the use of the apps the use. I'm installing everything into a rack.

I have thought of this switch the one I have at this moment:

ZyXEL GS1100-8HP

I'm gonna use Google Wifi for private use most surely but, I don't know what ap to use for the Guests. But I need to block some apps on that ap so they can't access all apps they want. I want to restrict the guest network. I need to know how to block apps too.

I wouldn't get that switch. Its a dumb switch. The managed ones are much better and let you do lots more network wise.

Don't get the google wifi, get the unify stuff. its much better, and each ap can have 4 different wifi networks at once. The google one can also have multiple network on the same device, no reason to get anouther one.

All the blocking is one on the router level. Get a good router(not the google ones)

Okay. Can you recommend me a managed switch form zyxel, not too expensive. How can I block apps?

reason why you need this brand? I had some suggestions above.

For blocking apps you want a firewall. If you want a cheap one thats good enough, id buy something like a used dell r210 and put pfsense of untangle. To block apps, you normally need to block there website, but google how to block each app, or see what connections are made.

I cannot buy in ebay because I'm form Spain. Do I really need a firewall to block apps?

pfsense and untangle are os's that will make any system work as a router.

Any poe switch will work, Id personally get a managed one.

I don't understand how to get everything working. How to connect everything. I need a scheme...

the computer or server works as a router.

The router plugs into the moden and the switch.

THe AP's plug into the switch along with other wired devices.

Okay and how do I have to configure the server?

Sorry but I'd give up here @Electronics Wizardy, there seems little point in recommending quite expensive hardware that the user doesn't know how to use, or even what it is. I think TBH that he'd be better off with a consumer router that has AC wifi and guest access controls. They also come with QOS etc that might be able to be configured to block apps as he wants... why am I telling you this? you already know this way better than I, lol... just seems to be a slog here for you trying to explain is all.

No offense meant to the OP, people have to start soemwhere, and I am no expert either... but I don't see the point in spending so much money on the use case you explained when the same can be had from a consumer router or router+AP at the most IMO.

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.
