Sell your old stuff. I'm surprised how much money I can get from selling old PC parts and old electronics, I just really want a classifieds section on the forum. I barely post on Tek Syndicate so I feel that I would be more trusted here.

i just use my tax i get back after the financial year

Pretty much this, plus knowing its coming up in July (Australia), I plan ahead saving in about January so even little bits now and then $1-2 a day to every few days.. whenever ya get a chance.

I outlayed initially the 2600k, 8GB of 1333mhz DDR3, AMD HD5850, Storm Scout case, 850w PSU (In case of Crossfire) and new peripherals, two weeks later I didnt have a lot of bills, so I could put $250 away that week ,the next week I bought a 27" 1080p screen upgrading from a 22" 1080p screen.

After about 2 years (5850 needing to be OC'd up to 6950+ ish levels) and gaming was taking its toll again after another 6 months,.. I planned for the second fastest of the new cards,.....HD7950 (Rumored at this stage)

I had a few months, made up $300, it came out, I only needed $40 more and got it a few days after release on special.

I don't make a lot of money, weekly ending up with $70-150 spare after life/food/bills sucks the wallet dry.

Used to make more at the time of the build, but nowadays I'm not so fussy on keeping it updated as Sandy bridge is still staying strong overclocked, the 7950 overclocked is no slouch, and I've since upgraded the memory to 2133mhz and added a Samsung 840 Pro to Boot Windows and Games. Maybe If AMD bring out something spectacular or I'll grab something like the Intel-E CPUs for bandwidth :)

Good all rounder for Gaming/Encoding/Messing & fiddling with anything

Bit of a read, lots of memories... I'm also 30, Have been loving PC's since I was 13, Had my first PC @ 14, been into it ever since.

The History of 3D accelerators, The AMD/Intel GHZ Wars, everything in between,...all articles I've read since then and now... Yep, I'll keep on doing it.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Live at home, save every penny I can.

I'm an apprentice but have about £500 after outgoings every month (Car insurance & fuel, rent, netflix, phone)

One or too nice meals or nights out with friends, leaves me about £400 a month in savings

Saving for a new car for now though, so going to be a while before I get any upgrades (in desperate need of a new monitor)... or a nexus 5

Parents, birthday+christmas money, made a flash game which gave me a bit of chash as well.

Thankfully my parents make enough for me to live rather well without needing to get a part-time job. My uni is pretty close to home so I'm not forced to move out either.
