Windows 10 taskbar icons flickering

Hello, my taskbar icons all blink once when I move items to the recycling bin, and then flash again when I delete or remove items already in the recycling bin, anyone know a fix to this? I have tried to clean install and update all drivers but nothing seems to fix it.

What GPU do you have? It could be a driver issue or a problem with your windows install. 

 

Use a program called DDU (i can link if need be) to wipe your drivers and reinstall them again or install a previous version. 

 

If that does not work it sounds like a Windows problem. Something similar to this happened to me with a corrupted windows install.

No it does not. 

 

I had flickering in my start menu a few months ago, it was entirely a windows issue.

Also does this issue persist anywhere else in your system? While gaming or watching a YouTube video? Any 3D environments?

we might have different experience my friends old 750ti htpc gave up last month after we noticed flickering.

no it only seems to happen when deleting files and emptying the recycling bin

then definitely a GPU driver or a Windows issue.

uninstall your GPU dirvers to a lower version that you know works. If that does not work, then it is a Windows issue.

I tried to install a older version and the same thing happens. I am now worried it may be my GPU, I bought it in September so it should be dying that quickly.

You can do that or go into settings and click reset.

I noticed it was happening yesterday and did do a clean install, but even right after the clean install with nothing else installed, the issue is still there, also i should note that the issue is there even when the graphic drivers are uninstalled

Flickering of whole screen/image. Not just icons. Different things, completely.

Are you using SSD or HDD as primary drive? Also how old and what model? This could be weak sign of failing drive. The flicker is when OS updates and loads stuff from drive.

I am using an SSD its about 2 years old
