Forgot the password to my router...

I forgot the password for my TP-link Archer D7 router. I do not want to reset the router because of configuration reasons. I have tried multiple methods of getting the password including /rom-0 and router password kracker please help!

Short of hacking the router (good luck without a Russian) your only choice is to reset it.

Nope and asking that question here is against the forum rules.

 

I'm pretty sure your router will use a variant of NGINX and if that's the case your password is hashed before storage so even hacking the password out won't help you, you'll still need the key to decrypt it.

 

Just reset it and recreate your configuration.

Most routers these days have a backup configuration option and restore configuration option so might be a good idea to use that. I know it doesn't help now but maybe you'll find something when redoing the config that will make things better.

 

Short of resetting the whole box though there really isn't much you can do unfortunately.
