That doesn't change the impact of what I was saying - I wasn't mentioning cooling issues.

What impact? Do you game in a closet? I've run both Crossfire and SLI, never had a problem with heat.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

In the summer, it gets too warm for me even without any computers dumping heat into the room at times...

Yes, but if you really like GTA or Overwatch, the GTX 1060 which costs just as much performs much better.....

Point taken. But what are the chances of a person ONLY playing GTA or Overwatch? Well, Overwatch, that's reasonable but someone spending ALL of their time on GTA only is a little far-fetched, no?

2015 titles perform better on the 1060.... If you play Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battlefront etc. These games perform better on the 1060 as well..... Battlefield 1 performs better on the 1060 as well (when using DX11)

Well, of course being sarcastic about it gets you better answers!

Dude, you're not paying these random people on the internet to answer your dumb question.

Also you got your answer (if you actually read them). Get one more powerful card instead of two mid-tier.

(Being an ass doesn't get you better answers)

But then with titles that support 'DX12' and Vulkan, the RX 480 tends to either match or pull ahead. Plus, it's the same price. So yes, it depends on the games the user wants to spend most of their time on.

Why would you use DX12 if you have an Nvidia GPU.....???

That is the exception rather than the rule unfortunately.... In many games, you will get a performance hit when using DX12 and an Nvidia GPU (BF1 for example)

If you want a cheap card that can do 4K when in SLI, get the GTX 970. It costs around $240 rn....

Yes in some games, however it isn't the cards speed (SLI) that is the issue, its the limited vram 4gb (3.5gb if you still on that wagon) doesn't add up in SLI and 4k uses extensive vram, I would honestly say 6gb is the minimum for 4k. I know this for a fact as I just upgraded from 2x 970s which were fast as hell, however they struggled at 4k with textures pumped up. Personally I'd go with a 480 8gb and another later, obviously it would be better to get a single 1080 now and SLI later, but that ain't cheap

Nope, misinformation propagated by YouTubers and amateur internet news site to gain clicks. All the issue with DX12 are because of ports from DX11 and completely the responsibility of the developer not the API. Most the games I play are DX12. BF1 crashes for me in DX11.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Is that in SLI? I didn't notice much improvement under DX12 last time I tired (around 6 weeks ago)
