More Cores VS Faster Cores for Adobe Premiere

Go to solution Solved by ARikozuM,

Both are better for Premiere.

So I do alot of rendering in Adobe Premiere and I am looking to build a small render server. I am currently trying to decide between a 6800k (6 Cores), a E5-2630 V4 (10 Cores), and a E5-2620 V4 (8 Cores). For rendering is the faster clocks of the 6800k plus overclocking better than the 8 or 10 cores of a Xeon or is the core count that matters? Also if you would recommend a different CPU for this purpose I am open it ideas.

Thanks,

Taylor

Would a 5960X work just as good?

yes

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6900K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5960X/3605vs2580

the 6900k is 8% better than the 5960x

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6800K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5960X/3607vs2580

the 6800k is 3% slower than the 5960x

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6850K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5960X/3606vs2580

the 6850k is 2% faster than the 5960x

all according to userbenchmark

Yes. I'd go for a 6800K.
