Warning: Dirty USB audio

No clue if this is the right section but i felt it belonged here.

I was messing around and was going to stream a little music making on my phone. I needed to charge it and plugged it into the ports on my Desktop. It started making some strange sounds. (see below audio track)

The start of that song is playing through a USB Apple charger. Then i decided to plug it into my computer USB ports and i started to get alot of noise coming through the USB port when it was plugged in.

Having my phone Pluged into the USB ports on my computer with a Quality Corsair TX750M Powersupply still gave me noise on my USB ports.

Just a fair warning about USB Headsets that they might add noise to audio. (@MayflowerElectronics correct me if im wrong about this.)

I just found it quite interesting and i learned something new today :D

(beats made my me :)

I am a happy wuffy

Didn't really hear any noise? You shouldn't be getting any noise, it's a digital signal. Plug it in the rear of the motherboard, you shouldn't have this issue.

Its around the half way mark when i plug it into the Other USB port (ie half way through the audio)

I am a happy wuffy

That noise is usually an indication of poor shielding, grounding or interference. it is not caused by the quality of the psu but the quality of the connections or usb implementation.  I get it when I use a usb hub as opposed to plugging direct into the motherboard.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

That wouldnt do it? If it doesn't have feridade cores shouldn't it be louder and with more noise?

Ferrite can be used as EMI shielding, but ground loops aren't reduced. EMi wont affect USB audio because it's a digital signal.
