Hey, while we're at it...

Is the PS4 Pro safe to use on 220V?

yep;

Hi

My brother just came back from Portugal and got a PS4 there but the pins of the power plug are too thick to fit the Brazilian standard socket.

I've noticed that the power plug on the back of the PS4 is similar to my PC and monitor power cable but without the ground pin.

So, can I just use any power cable or not?

The Cable that came with the PS4

Or more specifically, the right connector, an IEC Connector type C8.

MEH

if were going there, you might as well go with the full name

IEC 60320 C8

also can we just use the normal C14?

Huh, that looks like an IEC C16 connector.

It has to be one of these ones. :3

I'm not that anal. Also different connectors for different purposes. C7/C8 is good for 2.5A, which is appropriate for the PS4's ~240W power supply. C13/C14 would be overkill.

That shows how much of not-a-console gamer I am. I just found out that's a PS4 pro.

Yea its overkill, but its nice to have one pile of cables you can use for everything.

May as well make everything C21/C22 at that point. :P

but then the outlets in most homes can't actually power it and already have a ton of c13/14 devices laying around.
