Are you using Cable, DSL, or Fiber? Pings seem very consistent and would rule out it being fiber to the home.

 

Do you experience the same type of latency if you ran a traceroute to Akamai (example: images.apple.com)

You can tell by the latency to the first hop, he is surely on Ethernet.

Odd results especially for VDSL. I'll assume this is on ISPs end (or a line issue) if the second hop has such a dramatic increase in latency. Likely not a routing/DNS issue, but weirder things have happened. Has it always been like this?

my second hop was 17-18ms normally... and i could connect to closest wtfast server with 18ms latency too... right now im getting high ping to everything

that will be your ISPs problem, you cant do anything about that

it kinda fixed itself... i lost my internet connection for a minute and now my second hop is 23ms... it was 17-18ms now still worse than average but i think its an isp problem...

it was an isp problem, the 5 ms will come back
