Hi,

I'm getting tired of the cheap £10 chair that I got from a little fair near me and I'm looking for something more comfortable. The reason I've only just had a breakthrough is because it's just gone Christmas and I got a fair amount of money. So I'm looking for a nice, comfortable and cheap gaming chair, preferably one that comes up to the head. I feel this will also help with my sitting posture, as I find it unconformable and not very easy to sit back on my current chair,

Thanks a bunch,

ILoveKebab

Thanks, looking at their site it seems they have a few chairs that suit my needs, thanks again!

Chances are they have a store somewhere near you, and it's a good idea to try the chairs in real life before you buy anything.

Here are some things I think about when I get a new chair:

1) What material is it? I don't like leather (but some do) because it gets really warm and sticky against your skin, especially during summers.

2) Is it too hard/soft? I've recently realized that I prefer a bit harder chairs. If the chair is too soft then I tend to sit poorly.

3) Will it be easy to wipe off/clean? I eat at my desk all the time, so I want something that can easily be wiped off.

There are some good guides for buying chairs out there. Here is one I found on LifeHacker which seems to cover a lot of good points.

How tall are you and how broad are your shoulders?
These are important details in choosing a chair.

I'm 6 foot, not sure on how broad my shoulders are. I wouldn't say they are that broad. I'm looking at this IKEA chair, will take me a while to save up however it's a start:

The general consensus is that whenever a company is selling you a 'gaming oriented chair'; it's usually garbage. Just because professional streamers and youtubers push for a product doesn't necessarily make it a wise choice as far as ergonomics go. Sit in an equally priced chair with ergonomics in mind and honestly tell yourself which is best after 8+ hours of use 7 days out of the week. If you want a chair that will last you your entire life (provided you take good care of it) check out stuff from herman miller.

I recently purchased the 2016 aeron and I love it. It's available in three sizes as well. -  http://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/performance-work-chairs/aeron-remastered.html#/

Or, you can go all out and purchase the embody. Both chairs are cult classics and are frequently spotted in tv shows/films.

I have the Markus and it is comfy as hell - for £130 I don't really have anything to complain about.

As the others have pointed out, completely ignore any marketing. Have a wonder down to IKEA if you can, Staples, or any place that sells regular office chairs really and just find one that you like. Obviously take into account things like build quality, guarantee, materials etc. but the only thing which makes a chair a gaming chair is marketing, packaging and embroidered logos.
