7.1 not working steel series siberia 840 windows thinks there speakers

recently i bought the steel series Siberia 840s, I am trying to play a zombie game and i keep dying. because i keep getting attacked from behind so i tested my surround sound and the right side is not working i am assuming its because my head phones are recognized by windows as speakers please help

Try setting it to surround in the sound settings and see if it treats it properly after that.
