So im trying to start up my own little YouTube channel and I need a new computer the laptops i have barely browse the internet at a speed of one minute to load a YouTube video and i have two old windows vista desktops. So i was wandering is it easier and cheaper to either upgrade and update or just purchase a new pre-built system

my budget is about $150 U.S.

150 isn't very workable. IMHO I would save up and depending on how old you are(not asking) work around the house and do chores for extra money.

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

150 is too low for almost everything, but this might be salvageable.

Can you tell us what's in the Windows Vista desktops? If either of them has a Core 2 Quad and at least 4GB of RAM (although 8 is preferable), then this might be salvageable with a GTX 1050.

By the way, I mean combined RAM. If one desktop has 2 and the other has 4, that's plenty. Just move everything over to the better system, if it's good enough.

Just find a Dell OptiPlex desktop, upgrade it for cheap, then make money and sell it to get a new system with far better specs. People give these machines away these days. Someone gave me one at a yard sale, and I hadn't even asked how much it was (free).

Your only chance is used parts aside from like an AM1 5350 based build

randomgamingHD does a lot of stuff like that

OZ Talks Hardware does super low budget systems like that as well

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Optiplex 780 tower w/Core 2 Quad = $81 (and it comes with a Windows license!)

This RAM and this RAM = $1.75 + $5.99 shipping, running total is now $88.74

This hard drive = $39.99. Added bonus, the Optiplex MT chassis has two drive bays and enough SATA plugs, so you can use the tiny little HDD the system comes with! Running total is now $128.73

This GPU, which isn't particularly good at all, but it can handle light gaming on low settings and, most importantly, only costs $21.24 with $2.83 shipping, bringing your grand total to:

$152.80, including shipping, not including any tax

You'll be saddled with a PC that, frankly, isn't very good, but for $150 you could do a lot worse. Rendering video on it will be painful, but it will certainly speed up your browsing and video-watching experience. If you've got spare parts from your other two Vista PCs that you can merge into whatever Optiplex you happen to buy, that could open up some cash for a bigger hard drive or better graphics card. It's not an ideal setup for a YouTube editing and rendering machine, but Optiplexes are the unsung heroes of the PC world: cheap, powerful (for their day) and built like tanks.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
