Do I need a better quality psu?

Crossbred

Having heard of some unfortunate losses due to power supplies in the cx-m line, I'm wondering if it is worth getting a more protective psu for my 5820k. My CPU and mobo are the only parts of my build I am worried about taking damage from an electrical problem, as everything else can be replaced easily enough. I'm running these on a cx750m behind an old surge protector. My house isn't notorious for electrical problems but they have happened. If the switch is worth it I am open to suggestions.

Thanks!

the CXm line is ok, it was the older CX line that had some quality issues. Though the CXM line is a more budget oriented line you may want to upgrade to something a lil better to suit the 5820k better.

If it's for the 280X system in your signature then don't bother upgrading. You'll likely be fine for a good while.

Yep the G3 is the updated G2 for more quality improvements.

As I stated in the first post I'm doing it for my 5820k and mobo. I might upgrade my GPU soon anyway.
