cl11.... at 3200... while overclocked up the ass... On what are generally considered to not be particularly impressive dimms in the first place.

 

The tert timings are worse than the skylake one, but based on everything I've seen w/ ddr4 so far, 3200 c11 impresses me more (even if it isn't necessarily better) than 3600 c12.

But skylake can do over 4000mhz c12-11-11 1t. C11-15-15 is slow.

That's the thing. Sacrificing tertiary timings for primary is almost always a bad idea. It takes a balance of both to get the job done. Not to mention, RTL/IO-L carries you further than anything else, lol.

The record setting skylake run for said bench was only 6GHz, 3600, cl12 (as mentioned previously).  And ln2 v phase change (not that it matters all that much).

What skylake can do over 7ghz and we'll over 3600mhz c12.  That's like xmp speed, nobody runs xmp for oc.  Also the cpu makes 0 difference to memory overclocking compared to the motherboard.  A z170m ocf is miles better than a mviiie
