Plex Off line

_SNOWMAN_

Im new to plex. I was under the impression that Sync on my mobile device was kind of like downloading to view offline. I synced 3 movies and none of them play offline. They all say "unable to connect to server". Am I doing something wrong? Im guessing Sync is more like Optimize. If thats the case, can I download to my tablet through Plex? I just want to be able to load up some movies on my kids table for roadtrips.

You can just copy the actual movie file onto the tablet - no need to use Plex at all in this case.

With that in mind, Mobile Sync IS supposed to work offline:

https://www.plex.tv/features/

It's a Plex Premium feature though, so you need to pay for that feature.

You may want to contact Plex customer support:

If you intend them to watch Offline Movies in the car, you're probably better saving your money and just copying the movie files locally onto the tablet. Plex Pass is most beneficial for remote access to your Plex Server - eg: You have a data connection available to stream the content.
