[Debunked] Nintendo might have cancelled BOTW on Wii U

Master Disaster

Usual caveat applies, rumour mill still, take with salt etc etc

A Japanese website is reporting that Nintendo have cancelled Zelda BOTW on the Wii U due to technical difficulties.

I'm going to post this video as the quote due to the source being in Japanese

Original Japanese Source - http://blog.goo.ne.jp/kojiparapa/e/0b8be29cf77f169d3cd7bd2912ea8303

My thoughts, I strongly doubt this is true. The source is so sketchy and Nintendo recently release a trailer for BOTW with the Wii U logo at the end of it.

That said I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was true, Wii U has been recently cracked wide open and people can very easily pirate pretty much every game on the system (including DLC) using Nintendo's official content servers to obtain the games, heck even online play is working.

Thoughts?

Edit

Turns out to be just an elaborate troll perpetrated by a guy looking to see how far he could push a fake story along the media chain...

I do and I know more people that own Wii Us than xbones or ps4s.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

the WiiU is the only console worth getting imo, what does a playstation or an xbox offer that i can't get on pc beyond exclusives? the controllers can easily connect with pc. WiiU makes a special type of games that isn't console locked because sony/microsoft tries to fuck you over but because they try to do new and interesting things with crazy hardware.

Nintendo wouldn't release a console without a true zelda. It would help them sell any remaining stock of wiiu as well.

While im sure tho itll be a bit stripped down.

Its not like the days of twilight princess. The wii was basically an overclocked gamegube which is why they could port it easily.

Highly likely to be fake news story. As mentioned the Wii U logo was on the trailer released recently the game engine was also built around the Wii U. Performance issues however I could sorta understand but that is more of an optimisation issue.

I plan to buy this game on Wii U and Switch. If the GameCube version of Twilight Princess is a sign then this game could be worth a mint in a few years.

Until they port Halo 2 to a Nintendo platform, I'm sticking with my original Xbox.
