Hello,

First of all thank you all for your opinions and help with choosing the GPU.

I started from the SLI 960 4GB because it was the cheapest selection ( I got one already). then I went for a 970 or 470, but actually, now I decided to sell smth and looking for a 1060 6gb or 480 8gb. Please help me to select, I will the prices (will give the shop links I use), and please suggest what to choose according to prices, performance and the game I playing.

1) I prefer Green team for shadow play and IDK just prefer green team know that is bull**it but still

2) I play only: Path of Exile, Witcher 3 (Modded), Fallout 4 (MODDED).

3) Cards are second:

http://www.skytech.lt/480-gaming-msi-radeon-480-gaming-8192-gddr5-displayportx2-hdmix2-dldvid-p-333515.html , no in stock, but still prices are about 209-305 eur ~

http://www.skytech.lt/gvn1060wf2oc6gd-gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1060-windforce-6gb-gddr5-192-bit-hdmi-dvi-b-p-322569.html - at the moment with decent discount like 26 eurs, and one of the cheapest cards of 6gb version.

So please advice which one to choose know that I play only POE which works with AMD kinda badly as far as I know from one player streams and his opinion on AMD rig for POE.

Please tell me not the Take AMD or NVIDIA but why give me the reason.

As of right now DX12 its good so is vullkan but I don't see it as matured as people would like it to be. (definitely gives an edge over 1060 in some games)

I myself have a 1060 so I may get biased here (sorry xd)

running W3 on 2.1ghz with mods I got around 50~60 sometimes 70

Never tried FO4

I'm not 100% sure if the 8 gigs of vram gives a huge edge in bethesda line modding

I've got my skyrim modded pretty heavily.

I honestly think it comes down to

Do you want a gpu that lasts a while? (480)

Do you want a gpu that does the best as of right now (1060)

"Features" shouldn't be the deciding factor anymore because both companies now have the same thing.

Pricing shouldn't either because both cards (8 and 6gb models)  are very on par in terms of price.

So do you have a 970 or 960s in SLI? I am confused.

Anyways, I would keep whatever setup you have as the 1060 won't be a huge step up for the money, and you'd just be spending money to spend money in my opinion. I would wait until you can afford something more expensive.

Actually AMD just released a new recorder for their cards, and it's better than shadowplay at least in the fact that it's easier to set up now (doesn't require registration)

As for your GPU Choice: I am an advocate of the RX 480 4GB, it's significantly cheaper and unless you like Extreme settings or 1440p, will remain relevant for quite a while. You can find some for 230 euro on amazon.it. Its performance is just as good as a 480 8GB (contrary to the gimped 1060 3GB), with only a bit slower memory which you can OC.

Edit: If you want the 8GB, the XFX GTR is the best model overall for overclocking and silence, and it costs 288 Euro

I was gonna say the thing about the ReLive recorder. If you have a Free-sync monitor get the 480 obviously. 1060 if you have G-sync. If you don't have either I'd get the 1060 unless you play a lot of DX12/Vulkan games.

Me personally, I'd get a 480 because overclocking on it is more fun: you can mod the BIOS for higher power target (nvidia does their power management with hardware), force lower timings on the memory, and the core responds to more voltage whereas the Pascal stuff doesn't. If you're good, you can hit 1500.

And if he doesn't have a monitor he can get a 75 Hz Free-sync monitor for around 130 in the US. Not sure about other countries.

I have GL2460 BenQ 24" Monitor, I play only 1080p and didn't want smth more, I would get 1070 only to be sure if I mod game a lot still will get 60+ fps, but budget allows only 1060.

And I can't buy from Amazon only the shop I gave the link to the GPUs.

Because it's significantly cheaper for the same performance, and if you want to buy a monitor in the future you have the option of picking one up with Adaptive refresh (Freesync) without having to pay a massive premium (Gsync). Nvidia just put telemetry on their drivers too, an action a lot of us were mad at microsoft for when they did it to windows. I would confidently say AMD has the better drivers as of today.

But it's mostly the price. You're saving 50 euro on the same performance (and the 480 will age better if the trend continues)

From what I saw in his video, it's an AMD CPU issue that's not even AMD's fault, but still an issue with their CPU. RX 480 is a GPU, not a CPU.
