Advice needed on upgrade plans

NoobsPro

Hi guys/gals/whatever you identify your gender is

I need advice on a certain upgrade plan. But first let me walk you  through my system

I7-6700k stock clock

16gb of corsair lpx ddr4 @2133mhz

Gtx 1070 palit dual no oc

Msi b150m mortar

Kingston ssd v300 120gb os drive

Samsung 850 evo 1tb (steam)

2x 5400rpm 2tb harddrive for storage

Corsair hydro h100i v2

Tp link wifi pcie

Pcie usb hub

Cx650m psu 80+ bronze

Now this is my first build and running into the third month i realized two things.

1. I made a mistake with the motherboard, which i intend to swap with a z170a sli plus from msi

2. Should have gone with a 80+gold psu (eyein on xtr xfx 650w)

My question is, should i stick another gtx 1070 palit dual for sli when i get the motherboard? I'm also planning on getting the evga hb sli bridge if i can

Or should i just get a gtx 1080 and stick to single card?

Honestly I'm leaning more towards an sli setting so the other graphics card won't go to waste. Looking from a cost standpoint, the 1080 ftw evga would set me back 600+ us dollars while the sli setup would set me back roughly the same. So it's a stalemate

I'm mostly gaming on 1080p with plans to go 4k in the near future.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Won't make a difference. Just a waste of money.

Your best off buying a titan xp or a 1080. CPU oc won't help with much, and you can't oc it more than 15% normally anyways.

I know that's why i intend on swapping mobos. Kind of regretting i cheaped out on the motherboard. But i hit a budget ceiling on the initial build so that's what i could afford. My bad

Do you have a budget at all, I think I can build something better.

For the GPU, sell your 1070 and get a 1080. It's much better.

A titan xp seems to be way out of my budget

I guess a 1080 huh, that sweet rgb lighting seems nice

Thanks for the advice

This is what I got, you don't really need a i7 6700k, just overclock this cpu to 4.6 ghz. Case is your choice. Have Fun Building!

For 1080p even 1 1070 is overkill. And a 1080 won't be good for 4K for long. Stay on one 1070 for and upgrade to a 4K capable card next gen

Even the Titan X isn't really 4K 60fps ready. Wait until next gen to go 4K and keep your 1070 for now
