Deep cool tesseract, any thoughts?

While every component of the build is important, the case and PSU are, in my opinion, the most important. Choosing the right one means looking for expandability, airflow, and style.

Looking at reviews on Amazon it looks like a good case. So if you like it buy it, it won't be up to par with Corsair, Coolermaster and other high end cases but for the price it looks alright

I have read the reviews on PCPartPicker and it seems pretty ok, and I know it's not the best case, but I wanted something on the inexspensive side of the scale.

Buy it and try to build in it but be careful and don't damage because if you don't like it you can always return it and get something else

You're choosing a nice CPU and motherboard.

You're occupying half of your RAM slots giving you room to grow with another 2x4GB or 2x8GB kit.

I would advise against a 60GB SSD as Windows 10 can take up to 40GB for itself plus whatever the temp and page file take up. Get yourself an SP550 or MX300. These have good controllers with a great value.

You can also get a Hitachi (Western Digital) 2TB for around the same price as the Seagate.

Good GPU.

PSU isn't as good. I would change it to a CX550M (not for wattage but for quality).

The deepcool is a popular budget case, although I went with the Rosewill Challenger. If you're considering the Challenger, it's easy to build in, just a little less boxy.

Having built in one it was pretty good considering my friend got it for like $35. Some things I really liked.

 

The power button has a nice click to it.

It feels sturdy despite being cheap and made largely of plastic.

Has USB 3.0.

Has actual cable management.

Comes with two fans (loud as hell but they do the job).

The USB 3.0 header has a split off for USB 2.0. Hard to explain what I mean but basically, when designing this case, Deepcool seemed aware that lots of people would be building systems with cheaper components in their case and made it so that, if you had a board with no USB 3.0 header you could still use the USB 3.0 port on the front of the case, albeit at USB 2.0 speeds. Pretty clever, haven't seen such a thing before.

Footprint is quite small for an ATX case. It's about the size of an NZXT S340.

 

Cons:

 

The side panel window is the chintziest looking thing ever. Scratches easily and flexes a hell of a lot.

The fans are so. Fucking. Loud.

Not much else that I would like to see in a cheap case. 

 

Honestly I'd recommend it if you're barely able to afford a chassis for your system. It's not a bad case at all, just skip the windowed version of this case.

i have white version, if you will keep it on carpet probobly it will be good but if you will keep it on tabble or any hard top it will vibrate as hell, this case is just plane case nothing else, no ruuber nothing, all those easy HDD, CDROM mounts are tereble

I've heard that cable management can be difficult in the Tesseract if the power supply has fat round cables rather than flat ribbons.

 

Rear expansion slots need to be broken off, not a huge deal IMO just something worth noting.

 

It's a common trend among cheap cases with windows that the acrylic can scratch easily.

 

I don't think it has a bottom intake for fans, you may find it difficult getting fresh air to the GPU. Choosing the right front case fan will make the difference here.

 

If you are on a tight budget then go for it, it's really not a bad looking case IMO.
