I just shaved a little bit, that part that sticks out towards the chest, then I shortened the rest of the hairs in the arm pit. I find that the part I shaved down to skin is itchy. Nothing like it could be though. There are little red dots from the cubicle of the hair.

I will use some itch cream, maybe if I used after shave to pull the skin up above the cubicle it would have been better. Or straight razor shave.

Just have it waxed by a spa. Or if you can afford, have laser hair removal.

That is very manly. I studied my arm pit hair when it fell on my bathroom vanity while I was shaving it with my electric trimmer/shaver. It is very light in color, the hair on my head is much darker. I dont shave the pits often, its quite rare that I shave my pits, the armpit hair was just getting ridiculously long, coming out onto the sides of my pectoral fat muscle. After a few days it will stop itching.

Haha, I know. I shave various areas, as well as wax. Waxing is far more efficient and cuts down on growth over time.

I do spot shaving of freckles where you get some long hairs that are darker then the rest. I used to shave my toes on the rare occasion, and the top of my foot but not above the ankle. I dont have much in terms of chest hair, but I have 2 spots where the freckle area has some long hairs growing that I like to shave off. I have never tried waxing, can I buy the wax at the drug store and do it myself, as any real man would?

Haha, even arms and stuff. Ingrown hairs are no fun at all.

Plus once you've paid for the wax and the time invested you might as well have gotten it done by a professional.

I trim them with a body trimmer because I'm sweaty as fuck and it helps with that (anti-antiperspirant applies better, sweat dries up quicker and does linger on the hair etc.). 

 

Never shaved them though, must be uncomfortable as hell

I just shaved the little bit that stuck out, so it ended up being about half sticks out beyond the bicep. If I had bigger muscles then it would not be an issue. It really just needs a real short trim every year or so.

Just so you know, that's a myth and not true at all lol. It looks thicker because its the base of an already mature hair poking out, rather then the fine tip of a fresh grown hair follicle.

Depends on the person, it's also not the hair itself but growth rate. I have friends that, after shaving, noticed they grew more hair in the same area.

Shaving doesn't make it come in thicker, it just makes the tip of the hairs blunt instead of pointed, which can make them appear to be thicker or darker.

Not how it works at all. That is a large misconception people have. Shaving only makes it appear thicker and darker because you cut it flat when uncut hair ends at a point.
