I'm sorry to say that it really is a myth. It might have seemed like they grew more hair after shaving - and that might even be true - but they grew more hair after shaving, not because of shaving. The act of shaving won't affect how thick or how often/quickly your hair regrows. Any anecdotal correlation is basically just a coincidence.
