The new $716 reMarkable tablet

I'd consider buying it if:

• it had a color display
• it had 16GB of storage
• it used USB Type C
• it was $150

I see very little reason for this to cost $716. They sell the pen separately? Why? It's a crucial part of the unit. $76 for that case is an absolute rip off. Frankly, just based on the greed alone I'd refuse to back the company financially.

First issue I see is that it's a pre-order. You should never pre-order anything.

Pre ordering is not a problem.

Pre ordering a crowdfunded thing most definitely is.

Pre-ording a crowdfunded thing is worse but pre-ordering anything makes no sense. Most pre-orders don't give a discount so there's no benefit vs waiting until it releases and seeing what people say about it. You won't get screwed by a bad product.
