Slight miscalculation rad length, need help

So I decide to so my very first custom loop and I spent the last 4 hours intaslling a gpu block and half a CPU block then I realized: I bought a ek slim 360 radiator and the thing is way too long. I originally was gonna put it in the top of my case but the thing is so long it almost sticks out of the drive bays. I can't return it and also can't replace it with a smaller radiator so I need some way of putting it somewhere. Anyone have any ideas? I can't get a new case either.(FYI case has a 240 rad mount at top, 120 back, front and bottom) Also I need to finish the loop by Sunday as I will be busy next week.

Find a way to get tubing out of the case and mount it somewhere externally.  I don't have any radiators in my case, they're all in the table that the case sits on

Unfortunately the USB thing is in the way so modding won't help

Hilariously enough, I have no clue what brand or case the case is because I removed the company's logo so I could stick on an MSI sticker?

Post a picture of the case.  We may be able to help you find the make/model.

Buy a new case... you have a wasted rad otherwise, unless you could sell it. But it sounds like it may not be the best case choice for watercooling anyway, as if you were only going with one rad for a CPU + GPU, you really don't want less than a 360. You COULD use a 120, but then you're having to buy a new rad anyway. You can do it off one, but would need to be a 360.

 

Clearly a tall order to finish the loop by Sunday, as you either need to go out and buy a new case, or a 240 and 120 rad. My recommendation, get up early, go buy a new case that can take a 360. Loop will be much easier to put together with one rad anyway.

Yay! Apparently I can put the radiator on top of the case blowing air in and it doesn't look that bad

If you could place it on top and have the air blow out that would perform better. Heat rises and you don't want to make the air inside hotter.

Also does anybody know if high cpu temps right after installing custom loop is normal? (Air hasn't bled out yet I don't think and I only turned on PC to check to see if everything is working)

Like 70 degrees idle

Oh wow.  You'll want to make sure to get the air out of the loop, but I doubt that you have enough to cause that high of an idle temp. 

 

Make sure that your block is mounted well and that you have adequate TIM. 

 

Check to make sure that your pump is circulating as well.

Yeah... I'm gonna try reinstalling the CPU block because running heaven my gpu got up only to 35 degrees while my CPU was 80 idle

Apparently putting the radiator and pump on top of my case was a horrible idea because today I had a friend helping me and he told me that I was blowing hot air into my PC and I should put the radiator behind my PC where nobody would see it and then he tried to move the radiator and I didn't tighten the cap on the reservoir and coolant went everywhere and got inside my fans and all over the back and too of my motherboard and I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the huge mess and of course I tested the fans and some coolant had gotten into the radiator and it blew coolant all over my walls. I don't think I can use my PC for a week until everything is dried out and I get a new pump cable because the one I have is defective... 

 

Starting to regret liquid cooling I coulda bought a laptop that could actually run task manager (current laptop task manager uses 30% CPU)...

 

Plus I'll have to game on my server which has no gpu (well I have a spare gpu but it doesn't fit)...

I've got to be honest here.  You've made quite a few big mistakes along the way. You could have probably benefited from doing more research prior to starting, but I too understand the need to just make it happen. 

 

I'm sure that you've learned a great deal by doing it yourself so it's not all a loss. 

 

In the past, I forgot to tighten a res tube to its base resulting in a disaster once I powered the pumps.  Coolant everywhere and on every major component in the build.  Luckily, nothing was damaged, but my pride.  It turned out to be one of my most trouble-free builds.  I wish I would have kept it. 

 

As far as your current laptop and Task Manager, if this is an ongoing issue that you can't resolve, start clean with a fresh Windows install and go from there.
