Personally love browns, reds are nice too.

People can say what switches they like but the switch 10000 people like may be the switch you don't like.

 

Brown is a good go to switch. Same with red. Go to a BestBuy or W/E stores you have around and push some keys.

Depends which you like. I personally really like blues, although browns are okay too. I like having tactile feedback that the key has activated. Best way of finding out which you like is going to a store and trying them.

keyswicthes (and keyboards in general) are personal preference.

 

it's basicly like you're asking us what's the best kind of carpet to put under your desk. for all the advice we can come up with, nothing is gonna beat going to the home decoration store and putting your feet on some carpets so you can pick what feels the most right.

I like browns, they are somewhere between red and blue.

 

But it's personal opinion, so the best thing you could do is to test different switches yourself

To answer your actual question;

Since you don't play any competitive fps or similar, the impact on gaming ability is negligible. Therefore you should be basing your switch choice on how it feels to you rather than "best for X and Y"

 

Generally, there are two main types:

Linear (reds, blacks etc) - these are often preferred for gaming because the lack of an actuation leads to easier double taps etc

Clicky (browns, blues etc) -these are generally preferred for typing because people enjoy an actuation point

 

Honestly though, you can game and type on any switch and still be fine. Do some further research or listen to the recommendations above.
