Help I think I messed up my cpu or socket

When I went to put my CPU (6700k) into the socket I missed the socket by a little then I picked it straight up and back into the socket so it is it there good. I hope it is not broken

As long as you didn't bend or break any pins. Should be pretty hard to do on a LGA1511 socket. Why don't you just try it?

I had the same scare when I put my 6600K in, I moved it a little a heard a little noise but everything was fine. Apparently those LGA1151 cpus are quite tough.

Did you take a close look to see if any pins were damaged? If it looked fine, all you can really do is power it on and try it. I don't really know how it happened in your case, but probably most of us have fumbled a CPU once or twice. While there's always a wave of panic it's fine more often than not.

Is there anything that actually makes you think something is wrong? try it out and see if it works. that is the only way you'll answer your question.

When in doubt, re-format.

Lol most useless post ever.

Yeah, actually try using it and see if it work. If it doesn't, look at the socket and bottom of the CPU and see if anything looks out of place. Then we can go into trying to fix that.

Make sure that all pins are bent then you will know for sure that the socket is done.
