GTX 860M throttling?

Hello everyone:D

My laptop is a lenovo y50 with a GTX 860M and core i7 4710HQ. I also have an external laptop fan.

I once had steady 120+fps on cs go max settings, but recently my graphics card has been performing poorly and I only get sub 40 fps.

I monitored my CPU and GPU activity with MSI afterburner and I do not know if anything is wrong.

It is pretty annoying, and considering I only bought desktop parts this past Black Friday, I still need to work with this laptop for a few weeks.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

I heard cs go is not well optimized but is it really that bad?

I tried reinstall the game and reset all the settings but the problem remains.

Thing is, CSGO isn't even that demanding...

81C max temp shouldn't trigger the OTP (i.e. the thing that starts thermal throttling) and with the GPU usage fluctuating so much, looks like it's software.

Have you tried reinstalling your Graphics drivers? (newest one and older ones)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Thanks for the tip.

I keep my Nvidia drivers up to date.

But I am going to try to reinstall them.
