Honestly, there's been a lot of "news" about price drops and things so we don't really know what the price of things will be and what will be better value. According to Linus' benchmarks, 780 overclocks better, and 290X is better than 780 at stock.

Yeah i seen about the price drops. *Slick The 290x is with a Stock cooler :P. But for price here for me They're about the same price as some retailers have already dropped the prices for the 780.

No The 780 is £40 cheaper. I will be playing BF4 alot. Shouldn't the 780 be able to handle BF4 np

With FX 8320?

Seriously. GTX 780 is the way to go, since the NVidia drivers are SOOO much lighter on the CPU - Nvidia makes MULTITHREADED drivers which reduces CPU load on slower, but multicore CPUs (such as FX series or Phenom II x4, x6).

Radeon drivers are singlethreaded overally and thus they need higher performing single thread (Intel) to get fed fast.

With AMD CPU the best way to go is Nvidia. With Intel you can pick anything you want.

I ordered a titan and expecting it to run BF4 ultra settings with at least 60fps, so 780 should be similar if not 1% better even :)

Why does everyone act like a 780 cant run BF4? I am sure a 780 will get 70 to 100 FPS maxed out, and if that isn't enough I am not sure what is.

More like 60FPS with that game on ultra. it's pretty demanding overally.

780, cheaper, better cooling and all those cool NVidia gimmies that they bought me with. Also if you get a nice card with TwinFrozr, DCu II, Windforce or ACX cooler you can OC it to beat the 290X. If you have a 60Hz monitor you shouldn't care about more FPS with Mantle, because both cards max Frostbite 3 games just fine.

Ok thanks

I will probably pick one up as well to replace the "old new lady" (GTX660), a store here sells it with Windforce cooler for €450. But I can't decide whether SLI 4GB 770s or this :D

Wait for aftermarket coolers on the 290x and the 780 Ti before deciding.

I have an MSI laptop with an i7 4700MQ and a GTX 770M, I run BF4 maxed at average 34 FPS. If you have a 780 GTX, I am sorry it will be just fine. If you want an AMD 290X just to support AMD, go for it, but the 780 is better across the board.

Everyone said wait for 290, now everyone says wait for aftermarket coolers or 780 ti, you might as well wait next year for the 800 series. Just buy a 780 for 500 bucks and be happy. It is a bad ass card.
