Not sure about that, someone with more knowledge should able to answer it for me @Energycore @Comic_Sans_MS @Starelementpoke @STRMfrmXMN

How about EVGA 500b or 430w?

300W is probably cutting it close for a Workstation.

As much as possible I don't want to exceed $1000, this whole build costs 1207.28 in PCPartpicker. I think my absolute max price will be $1200.

You're in luck, I'm here to make you a great ass build.

I chose:

The Xeon 1231 v3 because it's a full 8 threads capable processor and only just behind the newest gen stuff.

The Arctic Freezer 11 LP because it's a cheap and capable little cooler that will cool your non-OC CPU silently.

16GB of RAM because unless you're editing 4K video, you won't need more, but you can still upgrade to 16GB more if you feel like you need it.

The WD Green drive because it's more silent than a 7200RPM drive, and can still do pretty good speeds in spite of its slower platter speed.

The GTX 1050 because you only just need some massively parallel Floating Point power in your system (OC it and you should reach 1.9GHz without ever compromising its stability).

The EVGA 600B because you won't pull a lot of power out of this system and is still an OK PSU

2 Acer KN242HYL because they're the cheapest 23.8"+ IPS monitors

And finally, the Logitech G302 Daedalus Moba because if you do programming, you'll love to have a bunch of macros.

Whadd'ya think?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
