Need the cheapest, legal way to get windows on new pc

Mcbergs

So im doing my first build and i have everything ordered except my os. I know about kinguin but i'm not really wanting to take a risk of wasting $35. Is there a way to get windows 10 or 8.1 for less than $200 cad?

EDIT: I meant 100 cad, and im only in highschool so pretty sure i dont get any discounts.

If you feel that concerned then pay extra for the buyer's protection.

Kinguin is a legit website

Without getting into the realms of potentially illegal,

Or if you're studying, apply for Windows Education and that'll help you out.

Wait for sales. It's best to calculate the $100 into your build cost though instead of buying everything else and leaving it as an afterthought.

I did, i just don't want to spend 130 if i don't need to. Good advice still, will reference for future builds.

unactivated? How does that work? Don't you have to put in a key to even start installing all the windows stuff on a new pc?

You don't need a key to install. all it does is say windows is not activated in the cornet and doesn't let you cange the desktop pic

If you have an email through your school,  you'll qualify, otherwise, contact the schools IT department.

If you have a computer with Windows 10 linked to a Microsoft Account, you could potentially user that until you decide to purchase your own.
