I have just noticed my SSD dropped 2% down to 98% and I am getting worried that it's going to kick it. I have 6399 GB wrote not sure if this a lot or not.

I don't think you should worry because 2% doesn't seem like a problem but over 6tb written is a crap load to me.

I have never heard of an SSD kicking it after 7TB of writes, a stress test was done to SSDs from Samsung, Kingston, Corsair and Crucial and they took petabytes to kick the bucket.

I wouldnt be worried

Let's take this at face value. You have about 62 days (from 1499 hours) on the SSD total. It dropped 2%. Even if it continued at this rate, it'd take 8.5 years for the SSD to die.

My crystal ball says you'll probably get something else after 5.

Given that it's been power cycled 977 times, it's probably been A LOT more than 62 days.

It's fine :), my MX100 has 5TB written on it and it shows up as 98%, read and writes as fast as when it was brand new (after re-installing windows ovb) so...yah know :P

On a side note, I've written less than you have while my drive has been powered for 4x as long, damn.

Spoiler

Also you really like restarting your computer it seems...

I reinstalled windows a few times as an update kept breaking it, it would just boot and blue screen I also installed ubuntu a few times trying different things out.

It should drop down in rate as I'm not doing the above. Sticking to windows ten. 8.5 years shouldn't good to me.

This. It's like worrying about whether your graphics card will reach the age of 10. :) It'll be obsolete long before it kicks the bucket at this rate.

Doesn't mean the GPU is dead. Last time this happened to me I bought a PCI slot fan and put it underneath the card.

it's not dead the fan is going though. It is off till the fan speed is > 80% then it turns off around 50%. I sits passive most of the time.

You've got nothing to worry about, unless the SSD is quite new.
I've got around 20TB written to my SSD and its health is still at 100%.

I wouldnt be worried

Though, it's worth noting that only 2 of them made it to the petabytes mark, and 2 died before reaching the 1 petabyte.

its about 2 years old, my vertex 4 died and this is what ocz sent as a replacement. I have installed a number of os over the last two years I guess that is where the 2% has gone.

I don't think that's it. I just don't trust OCZ SSD's, I bought one of their units from NewEgg and it arrived with 84% health as soon as I installed it. I quickly returned it.

it might very well be faulty but so far it is holding its speed rather nicely. I would have much less writes to the sad if I didn't install different os so often.
