so i want to get a secondhand PSP for some emulation (n64, Gameboy, SNES etc.) and i have a couple of questions. Which PSP is the best for it (1000,2000,3000) etc. And how would i go about loading software on it? do i need some other thing?

PSP 2000 OR 3000 is fine.

Dont buy the GO version.

Its cool but i have a problem with the flex cable.

Loading software?? i dont get it.

Do u mean custom firmware?

I dont think u will need CFW.

All u need is to download the emulator, install and load the games.

I have tried it.

oh ok thanks. By software i meant emulators

I have a 2000 with CFW installed and my gf has a 3000 that has that funny cfw that you need to boot every time you do a cold boot.

Emulators are homebrew applications and require CFW btw :P

The 1000 feels more like a brick so i wouldn't get that one, also specs are quite different compared to the other ones, no idea what exactly but between the 1000 and 2000 there is actually a relatively big gap for a console.

Apparently the 2000 is easier to jailbreak:

Depends on if you want to jailbreak it or not. I don't think you can jailbreak a 3000 but idk

It's over a year after posting that topic and I still don't have a PSP..

Take note that some emulator required CFW or u cant use it.

It will remove your warranty but u can easily restore it.
