On a more serious note, I sometimes just start browsing wikipedia articles on the topics I need to know, as reading it is often quite a bit more interesting than the actual books - which gets me into the subject and makes me actually open my books to try and understand some part the wiki article doesn't explain well.

RuneScape is still the best MMO ever made.

Re-writing stuff usually works for me.

So rather than reading from a revision book, read it then write what I can recall and rinse and repeat until I feel I have a firm understanding. Typing out any handwritten notes you have from lectures or whatever on your PC - just make sure you actually read as you write rather than just looking at individual words and typing them.

Definitely learn to type with full words instead of texting lingo that has been outdated for years. I recommend typing the notes for the class you're trying to learn. In fact, type it multiple times. I guarantee you'll do fine if you do that.

Oh and get off the internet. Seriously, you won't get sympathy from us if you fail.

Flash cards help, good way of testing your memory and training your brain to associate larger amounts of information with shorter words. Same can be done by trying to draw similarities and differences between pieces of information relevant to your test. The more work you do and connections you can make within your brain the (hopefully) more long term memory information can be stored.

I found handwriting things a more effective way of having things stick in your brain better too.

Edit:
Oh one last thing, get a good nights sleep the night before the test. (And every night leading up to it.) Pulling an all righter might be tempting to cram in some last study but you'll just impair whatever memory you have as well as your overall judgement and cognitive function. You'll want to sleep well on the nights you study too to ensure that what you learn gets well entrenched in your long term memory.

I read the stuff. While reading I might get distracted or sleepy, if this happens too often (Like I can't get past one or 2 pages after a while) I stop for a few minutes and resume later.
