How Long Does A PSU Last Before Dying?

I currently have an Aerocool VP 850W PSU and I've had my PC since January 2015. I typically use my PC for 7-12 hours a day but always turn it off when I know I'm not going to be using it (sleeping and going out etc).

I've attached an image to this post showing my current specs. I really want to upgrade my GPU to a 1060 but I have serious question marks over my PSU and debating whether it would be worth upgrading that first before my GPU for precautionary measures. I've heard pretty bad things about Aerocool and was wondering how much longer it will actually last before dying on me.

Any advice/experience would be great and thanks in advance!

Well, I made an OCZ evostream 600w last 10 years... Sooo. :P

Power supplies are usually one of the last things to die besides a case.

As long as the PSU has the correct pins to power the graphics card I wouldn't worry about it.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Your PSU will do OK, it's not a great one but it's not going to blow up, and to be honest a GTX 1060 will pull less power than a 760, not more.

Since it's a doubtful unit, it will last anywhere between 2 years and basically forever, but you're not straining it anywhere close to its max rated power, so don't worry about that.

Keep dust off it so int lasts longer.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

It should last at least as long as its warranty, but really, as long as it's kept at a reasonable temperature, it'll last for a lot longer than that.

I've had a cheapo came-with-the-case power supply last about five years and the only reason why it died is the fan died and it overheated too many times.

At least 10 years.

Longer than most other pc components.

Some can live through multiple PCs. I'd expect an EVGA G2 or Seasonic X-series to live for no less than 10 years provided they're not caked with dust and have decent airflow.
