Should i remove the SLI cover

IsmetGS

So i bought the GTX 1070 FTW in my white themed build and im debating whether to remove the rubber SLI cover.

The reason is, is because with the cover on, it looks all black and stealth but risking getting hot and melting (not sure if thats a thing)

Or take the rubber cover on sacrificing the looks but keeping the card safe

Not sure if what i said made any sense but yeah

Thanks.

you can leave it on, no problems.  Or take it off.  As long as you aren't using your pc as a dartboard you shouldn't need it

it doesn't make a difference

I doubt your card will get hot enough on the SLI fingers to melt rubber

I kept the SLI covers on my G1 Gaming 980ti and never had any issues

Its fine don't worry about it. I have mine on my 1080 and have had the same one on a 670 for years.

no problem! :P  The SLI bridges that're used with SLI setups are made of plastic too.  There aren't many heat producing components right in that area of the card

The board won't get nearly hot enough to melt the rubber. I remove it though since it attracts dust like a motherf#cker.
