owencrispy

So im currently looking at building a mini itx PC that i can carry with me to university in september of next year that i will be able to game aswell as work on.

ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS

Im a fan of small but powerful, so heres the parts list. I have a part time job, so im slowly but surely saving up for this:

CPU: Intel Core i5 6500

MOBO: Gigabyte B150m mini itx w/wifi

RAM: 2x8GB Corsair lpx 2133 Mhz

COOLER: Cryorig C7

PSU: not sure yet, any help?

STORAGE: i would really like a 1tb mechanical 2.5" but would it be safe to move the pc round with it in? also looking at a 240gb ssd

GPU: Zotac AMP! 6GB 1060

CASE: Fractal node 202

For the case, If you don't want to fit in a backpack. You can get the Corsair Carbide 380T.

Good specs though.

Contrary to what was said earlier in this thread, don't get the Corsair 380T.

I've used it before, my personal rig was in it for nearly a year. I hated it. Even though it has a handle, it's MASSIVE for an SFF case, and takes up a lot of desk space. The build quality is bad (lots of creaking plastic), it's terrible for cable management and is a dust magnet.

The Node 202 is a much better case. If you really need a handle get a Silverstone ML08B-H

I am not a professional. I am not an expert. I am just a smartass. Don't try and blame me if you break something when acting upon my advice.

does anybody know if i would be better using the mini version of the Zotac 1060 or the smaller version of the EVGA 1060? 6GB is the card im looking at, but im trying to figure out whether it would be better to use a smaller GPU and use the extra room to include a 120mm fan as an intake for fresh air to help keep things such as my mechanical drive cool and my graphics card with enough cool air to not thermal throttle
