Does anyone else have a constant need for technology?  I'm not just talking about "Oh I have to check my phone" I mean you have to have the latest stuff or just more technology.  I doubt I am the only one but I just look at stuff and think that I have to have it, for example, I have an iPhone and I wear watches so I think to myself, "Why not get an Apple Watch?"  But I don't need the watch, I doubt it'll make anything easier or more efficient but I just think it's cool.  And I used to have a Nintendo DSi and I loved it but I moved on to Xbox and PC but have recently be looking at getting a 3DS or 2DS just to have one and play a couple games I used to love like Custom Robo Arena (YESSS!)  and maybe some Mario Kart or Pokemon.  I hope I am not alone on this :D Reply with what you really want to get next!

It's nothing specific towards you

I do from time to time, but then I rationalize it heavily and decide I don't need it. So I don't buy it.

Like recently since I've been reading Kindle on my tablet I was thinking about buying a Kindle. But then I realized it's just another device that I would have to take care of and there's nothing wrong with reading Kindle on my tablet. Aside from the longevity the actual Kindle would get me.

i am basically adicted to used PC parts at this point. i may need rehab

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

I had that for years, but a couple of years ago it went away.

It's sad to see somehow that just the basic normal life is fading away.

"Social media" makes people anything but social is just one of the many things that annoys me.

Big data is really scary and i'm sure it will hurt us more in the long run, i mean when you see graphs or whatever and see that most people want X or Y, that market is going to blow up while completely killing more niche markets.

Now it's all about "thinking outside the box" but i'm not so sure that would be the case in a few years when we just look at data, decide X or Y is the best thing and do that.

There is just so much i don't like about our possible future...

IoT, another damn thing! Geez what a big mess. I'm learning IoT stuff at school and i know why it looks like the next big thing, but boy do i hate the way it's usually used.

Imo IoT should be NOT connected to the internet. Just WIRED to a local network that's designed for the IoT devices to talk to each other, and maybe PoE, solves the power issue. But it shouldn't be connected to the internet and controllers should be wired. But most people probably won't agree with that so the only thing we can do is watch IoT devices getting hacked and abused.

I don't know, tech can be nice but it's getting to a point it's really getting everywhere and i don't like it anymore, it's just too much.

Btw, i HATE tech in cars, ffs what happened with that. Cars from the 90's and the beginning of 00's are imo the peak in automotive design.

From that they became plastic boxes that are "safe" and "economical" and a nightmare to service on your own.

Probably just me again but oh well...

You know, old people say something like "back in my day X or Y" well i have that now already, and i just left the teenage life...

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

No not really. I thought your title was going to be Itch your Crack or something LOL

I could care less about 3d tv's, curved displays, xbox or ps4, or games, iWatch, iFit, 3d glasses, 4k, 3k, 2k, bigger the balls the better.

I like practicality!!!!!!!!!!!
