Yes, when you change your motherboard, it might happen, it might not, but sometimes you need to reinstall Windows, so it can recognize the new motherboard. About your SSD, use a program that can read S.M.A.R.T. data, and see how many TB have been written to the host, then, search on the internet for your SSD lifespan.

Reactivation =/= reinstalling. Just FYI. Or if you don't know the difference, reactivation means one needs to log in to MS account or re-enter product key. Reinstalling means, well reinstalling Windows from install media or recovery media for laptops.

@KeenOn have you tried to repair Windows? Something like this could be because of update issues. If it hasn't been activated, it should still boot normally. Also what hardware did you change?

It's only an issue if somebody was stupid and bought the OEM version instead of the RETAIL version.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

That only happens when you buy the OEM version? I thought it was for all the version.

Q: What happens if I change the hardware configuration of my Windows 10 device?

A: If the hardware configuration of your Windows 10 device changes significantly (e.g. motherboard change) Windows may require re-activation on the device. This is the same experience as prior versions of Windows (e.g. Windows 7 and Windows 8.1).

Only the motherboard makes a difference, maybe the CPU, but I think it's only the motherboard.

OEM versions are bound to first mobo they are activated on. Unless OS is Win7 or older, then some extra things are in play. As for CPU, Windows doesn't care.
