I just bought a gigabyte 1060 windforce 6gb to replace some old amd 7770.

I installed the card and games started crashing when playing (obviously not happening before) and the it started crashing when idle at the desktop too. . . 

Anyone got any ideas,  ive installed the drivers and all that shit.

Might sound like a stupid idea, but have you tried restarting?

Huh, well make sure that your card is fine!

 

Edit: Read it as you putting the gtx 1060 in. So if the 1060 does continue to crash then yea, just RMA it.

Did you uninstall your old drivers before installing the new ones? with DDU?

Boot into safe mode and see if the system still crashes.

Power isn't a big a factor as amps on the 12+ rail. I have a 700 watt psu but the pc will crash under load because it only has 22 amps on the both of the 12v rails.

Is this a premade pc?

Pick 1 version older of drivers and when you start them up to install them pick custom and then pick Fresh install so it deleted all older drivers first.  Try out a few driver versions to make sure its the card and not the drivers. 

 

And by crashing do you mean you get BSOD, or a drivers not responding?  Or does your PC just restart automatically with no BSOD code or anything?

The Screen just freezes and I have to restart to have it freeze again
