Hi  Community,

im having a problem with both of my PC's:

They keep starting by themselves without reason.

Sometimes i leave to go to my parents place for a weekend, and when i come back my pc is running -.-

I think its the mainboards fault, maybe some wrong settings, because my 2nd build is doing the same thing, and its running the same ASrock Z97 Anniversary Mainboard.

Of course i disabled wake up from lan.

Heres a screenshot of my bios setting...

I just dont know what to do anymore... Its really annoying having a PC  that starts by itself all the time.

Please help :(

The power button might be shorting, I would try disconnecting the cable and see what happens

its intel management interface's fault, it happens to me too when I use ancient drivers.

I thought about that too.

I tried disconnecting it on my 2nd rig and it was starting anyway...

The automatic turn on has to be some bios setting. It happens to my Z87 ITX Asus build too. The board I have got wifi and BT, do you have that as well? What I did to finally make it shutdown for good was, inside the bios there is a ErP setting, switch to the opposite of what the default was. I can't remember what my default settings was.

The automatic turn on can also be something to do with Intel Smart connect, where it still updates info from the net while the PC is off, much like how your phone updates or gets notifications, even when you're not using it.

Now if that don't work update the bios and try again. Took me about 3 months to finally fix it, as it was random.

How strange, I have the same problem with my Asrock Z97m Fatal1ty motherboard.
Following in case anyone has a solution.

My one though doesn't start by itself after being off. It usually just doesn't turn off properly, just restarts.
So everything powers down for about 2 sec and then it boots up to the login screen again.
Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't cant understand why..

do you have any devices that take USB power plugged into your PC? (wireless headphones etc)

Headset, Keyboard and Mouse. All from Steelseries. But i doubt thats the reason, cause my 2nd. build without any peripherals does the same thing...

What are your BIOS settings for the "power loss and what do to when regaining power" thing? Maybe it has something to do with that?

Its just an feature which  a) turns your computer back on or b) keep it off after an  sudden power loss.
