Using two Xeons

Would you guys recommend getting two Xeon e5 2670s for gaming becuase I'm in the process of upgrading my pc. I mostly use my computer for gaming(csgo majority of the time, but I'm also picking up gta5), but I do occasionally use it to do my computer science homework

I currently have an fx 6100 so pretty much anything right now would be an upgrade
If i were to get the two Xeons I would already have the RAM for it but the thing keeping me away is the $300-$400 for a two slot LGA 2011 motherboard

Any suggestions for alternatives for gaming?

Also I was planning on getting a GTX1060 6gb but I'm open to other suggestions as well.

An i5-6600k + Z170 board ($350~) will be better and cheaper, or you could go with an i5-6400+H110 board ($220~). Both will be better for gaming.

Xeons are workstation CPU's and are not designed for gaming.
An I5 6500 is probably closer to what you'll be wanting

*Xeons weren't designed for gaming, but that doesn't mean they can't be use for gaming.

I personally run dual xeons for gaming so I am well aware of that.

With the Xeons OP is going for it will be much more cost effective to just get a 6500 and call it a day

You're right, it just means they perform worse at gaming.

And no, you don't need 32 threads to do "science homework" so it is a waste of money.

As I own just one e5 2670 I can assure you that games will not even go over 65% usage on just one, buying two for just gaming is pointless for that amount of money get a skylake i7.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

I also own the same CPU and can back this up. Going with two us a waste. Just get a newer i7 or i5 if all you want to do is gaming.
