Flagship Phones

  1. 1. Which flagship phone should I purchase?

    • Apple iPhone 7
      4
    • Samsung Galaxy S7
      9

Do you have a Mac or Apple Watch?

Do you, from your experience, prefer Android or iOS?

These are questions you need to answer. Also, just as a side note but you might want to consider the Pixel. The S7 is a better all around phone but if you want timely updates the Pixel is much better at that.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

What makes you like the iPhone 7? Lack of a headphone jack ;) Kidding.

But honestly if you're not sure about the OS, I'd get something else. You can always find a comparable phone hardware wise.

I like Android because of it's customization options. I hate seeing apps shat all over my desktop.

I'd get a phone that has Android 7.0 tbh. Since updating my phone to it, I've had excellent battery life. The standby time on my Nexus 5x is insane compared to my Note5.

I don't have either, and I highly prefer Android, but I hate the way the S7 looks, which is a HUGE deterrent for me. And I'm also highly against Google phones, I don't know why, but I feel like the Pixel is too good to be true. Thanks for the advice.

I definitely, definitely prefer Android. But I just really don't like the looks of Galaxy phones. Thanks for the advice.

Why not go for the pixel, I don't understand "too good to be true" the only thing the pixel> is camera everything else is competitive to the 7 and s7

If you want to go balls out, wait for the mate 9

I'm aware, but I don't like a lot of the other ones. The only one I MIGHT consider is the Moto Z, but still, I've known people with Motorola phones who have hated them. I'm a big brand person.

I can't really wait much longer, I have to restart my current phone every 45 minutes.

What don't you like about Google phones? This one looks pretty much like an iPhone :P

HTC M10. OnePlus 3. Both are decent iPhoneish replacements.

The Pixel isn't a perfect phone by any means, but from the reviews I've seen on the web, it really is a pretty decent phone. It has top of the line specs, a really great display, a good camera, the Google Assistant (which, from what I've seen, seems to be better than Siri), and, unlike any other flagship out there besides the iPhone, it actually gets timely software updates. It does have some drawbacks, like the weird design of glass on the top third (though if you plan on using a case that shouldn't matter), no water resistance, no microSD slot, and whatnot, but if that doesn't matter to you I highly recommend it. Note though, if timely software updates don't matter that much to you and you really want a microSD slot, you should also take a look at the HTC 10.

If you can though you should go to, for example, T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon and check out the phones before making your decision. Hands on experience is always good and generally is better than reading reviews for making a decision.

I have the 7+ and love it, but I'd still recommend the Galaxy if you aren't sure. Basically, if you aren't sold on the Apple ecosystem and user experience, it just feels like it makes more sense to go Android. Better screen, better rooting/jailbreaking, better voice recognition. Basically everything Apple is good at the Pixel or the Galaxy phones can challenge...except the user experience (which is subjective). I just dig the ecosystem and build design way more.

Having just experienced IOS for the first time with my IPhone 7 plus, I've become a fanboy. Its silky smooth, looks so much nicer and more refined, and the ecosystem is a big plus.

Still, if your phone is just a tool then Android gets the job done nearly as well from a practical perspective. I don't really find IOS to be any faster for most typical smartphone tasks.

Little too late. I got my new phone last night.
