Will my old HDD be enough for recording TV?

Hi, so I got a 4k TV that can record live TV to an external hdd.

I have a USB 2.0 hdd that does 30MB/s read and write to my PC, using crystaldisk.

I only have USB 2.0 on my TV too so theoretically Im limited to 60MB/s only. 

Do you think I can do normal HD content on my TV and record and play back. I will be testing but its a bit of a faff/difficulty, because the TV is in a different room to where the HDD will be.

Any suggestions appreciated
