OVER CLOCKING DOWN CLOCKS MY CPU

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Are you sure that the CPU isn't downclocking itself to save power? If Windows is set to Balanced mode, the CPU frequency will change depending on the load.

OP, don't take this the wrong way, but you really need to stop and learn a bit. You're asking some very, very basic questions.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I see no advertising about non-K overclocking capability.

The only things it actually mentions are:

- Supports Intel® K-Series unlocked CPUs

- Supports ASRock BCLK Full-range Overclocking

Yes, but that doesn't mean there's an issue. It could just mean the CPU is downclocking to save power if Windows is in Balanced mode or Power Saver mode, which I already told you how to check.

What does that have to do with what I said? In addition, the video is useless because it was released before the incident took place with Intel. The article that @Enderman linked was written in February, and the video was released at the end of January.

AIDA64, Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, Cinebench, etc. Anything that will stress the CPU.

You said you fixed it? If u oced to say 4ghz but it idles at 800mhz run aida64 stresstest and watch in cpuz if the frequency goes up or not. If it doesnt you have a problem if it does i wouldnt worry to much as thats what iys designed to do in order to save power with lil if any performance drop.
