Slow internet on Windows only

I would go so far as to remove cFosSpeed and turboLAN, as they rarely actually help. Having both installed simultaneously is probably causing issues, since both prioritize network traffic (cFosSpeed by QOS/traffic shaping, turboLAN by packet prioritization at the network level, which your router might not actually support). It might not solve the issue, but it's a good place to start. I'd also completely uninstall your network driver (right-click on the devices in Device Manager and hit Uninstall, checking the box to delete the driver) and then reinstall fresh.

For some time i've had this problem with windows 10. It's extremely slow: sometimes i get 5 mbps over 22 given by my ADSL. The problem is that if i make a speedtest from windows, it gives me no more than 10mbps, if i try to open a webpage while using a Voip (let's say skype, for example), my call lags a bit. It's really frustrating, since sometimes even pages like google take too long to load, and other "bigger" pages, more than 1 minute.

 

I have a partition with linux on the same computer, no problems on that: speedtest at 18-19 mbps and no issue at all.

 

The first time i had this problem, i just had to install an updated driver, it solved the problem. This time, after the major update, updating the drivers didn't solve the problem.

 

I checked that i'm at 100mbps ethernet

I disabled turboLAN's traffic shaping

i disabled cFosSpeed Internet Accelerator

I disabled QoS

Also, i found out that "Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level" was already set to normal

 

Did any of you solved this problem? I'm really running out of ideas on that

Tried re-installing LAN driver? I am assuming you are using ethernet?

Nothing is making traffic, right now there is no more than some peaks at 8kbps, everything is turned off, even booted windows in diagnostic mode.

 

Reinstalling the LAN drivers did not solve the problem.

I also tried plugging 2 ethernet cables (my motherboard has 2 ethernet ports) but nothing, no changes. Now it is using both ethernet ports, but still giving me 10Mbps, so, while it was 10 per port, now it's even worse, since is 10 using 2 ports.

Ok man, i think this solved the problem, thanks. But why updating the driver didn't solve the problem, while uninstalling and reinstalling solved it?

I did as you said, uninstalling every LAN driver (so, the 2 ethernet ports and the wi-fi). ticking the box, then it installed them again by itself (maybe there were 2 drivers in my computer, and one was not properly working?)

I think some registry value got messed up somewhere between cFosSpeed, turboLAN, the drivers, and Windows updates, and nuking the lot and starting fresh was the only real option unless you wanted to perform registry surgery. Glad it worked out!
