GTX 1060 Suggestions

Hello all

need some advice for my new GPU!

 

I really want to buy the ASUS ROG STRIX 1060 GTX 6GB but it costs 365EUR here and the GIGABYTE G1 costs 310EUR. I dont feel good spending 350EUR for the GTX 1060.

The reason i want the STRIX is because of the looks, i have a pc with big window,leds inside and  in general my desk has RGB lighting etc so i really care about the looks. The G1 has that orangish color that i dont like.

 

Is the +50EUR worth it for the 1060? Should i get a used 980? Should i get a 1070? Should i get another variant of 1060?

it is usually expensive, i have that version myself and it cost way more than the gigabyte G1, just go with the gigabyte G1 if you are not willing to spend the money. or check the regular 1060 strix

I like the look of strix alot! But still i cant decide..maybe any other otpion that looks good with rgb lighting? Except g1?

well i think the strix and G1 gaming is your best bet with rgb lighting

There is no significant difference in performance between 1060's 6GB right? I would like to get 2GHz with manual OC of its possible..

yep, not much difference just overclock it manually

I recommend the D5 wind force edition, Its basically the G1 with a lower clock speed

 

Comes with backplate plus RGB  

I overclocked mine to 2.1ghz easy stable tried 2.2 but instacrash :"(

Hmm the g1 from D5 is only 1€ difference

 

I dont like the gigabyte cause it has that orange look. My pc is red black

My PC is red and black the orange accents are so minimal

Meh..the plastic looks also cheap comapred to rog..any other cards? Maybe evga?

I mean, go for what ever you like, I couldn't afford the FTW or Strix RGB, So I just went with whats best for the price for me.

 

the solid metal backplate definitely does not feel cheap as well 

 

(I'm in US and the D5 was $250 and strix and ftw was $300+)

nope...... if you dont wanna go with the strix well just go with the G1, it is your best bet and whats stick with the color scheme the most. i wont argue if you go with the strix, i am using it myself and it looks and performs great, but its not the best for its price

my friend got the gigabyte g1 and he said its good and quiet.. the g1 is 311EUR and strix 365EUR how much performance difference is there between them?
